Today’s beauty comes from Masseria Altemura, a fascinating fortified farm dating back to the 4th century BC in Italy’s beloved Puglia region. The property is located in Salento, which is quite literally right smack in the heart of Puglia and in the middle of the winemaking action.
The estate is absolutely magical – picture ancient limestone buildings surrounded by sun-drenched vineyards, with scattered fragments of white stone reflecting light back onto the grapes. There’s even an underground river running beneath the vines! That’s one of the only occurrences in the world.
