Maison Roche de Bellene Vieilles Vignes Bourgogne Chardonnay 2021

This 2021 Bourgogne Chardonnay comes from 48-year-old vines – exactly the kind of old-vine parcels Nicolas was constantly searching for. He believed quality came from the vineyards, and this wine shows why. Ripe citrus, apple, subtle toasted notes, and that refined mineral undertone that brings precise Burgundian elegance. It’s a dead ringer for Meursault at a fraction of the price.

Original price was: $38.00.Current price is: $29.99.

Nicolas Potel died suddenly this past June at just 56 years old. This Bourgogne Chardonnay was one of his last finished wines.

If you followed Burgundy at all, you knew Nicolas. The son of Gérard Potel, who ran the legendary Domaine de la Pousse d’Or until his own sudden death in 1997, Nicolas spent his life championing old vines, organic farming, and the belief that great wine shouldn’t be exorbitantly expensive. He was a visionary who believed wines should be opened and shared, not hoarded or priced into the stratosphere.
