Maison Brotte La Rollande Crozes Hermitage 2024

94 Points, Wine Enthusiast

The Syrah in this 2024 vintage bottling is truly exceptional. It’s so delicious, it has it all – jammy fruit backed by silky tannins, and even a little spice! Aged for 12 months in a combination of concrete vats and 100-year-old large oak foudres, this maintains a bright, fruity core with a refined, memorable finish. Wine Enthusiast went nuts giving this one a 94-point score and calling the profile “deeply expressive” and “luxurious,” noting “dark cherry bramble pie, blueberry jam, violets and lavender.”

94 Points, Wine Enthusiast
The nose is reminiscent of dark cherry bramble pie, blueberry jam, violets and lavender in a deeply expressive, luxurious profile. The palate is full bodied with black cherry, terracotta, cedar, underbrush and broken granitic minerality, all held in a firm structure with clear potential. Best after 2028.

Located in Châteauneuf-du-Pape since 1931, the Brotte family owns three exceptional estates in the Southern Rhône Valley. They’re famous for their “La Fiole du Pape,” but this Crozes-Hermitage represents something special and much different from those.

The name “La Rollande” pays tribute to the year the winery was founded, symbolizing glory and courage. It’s a 100% Syrah designed to showcase a more elegant and “feminine” side of the Northern Rhône appellation.
