98 Points, Parker’s Wine Advocate
“A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, the Fattoria Le Pupille 2023 Saffredi represents a classic expression from a fresh vintage that ultimately performed far better than expected despite mid-season mildew pressure. The estate continues to refine its use of wood to emphasize brightness and fruit purity, a shift that is especially evident here. The wine shows notes of dark cherry, ripe blackberry, spice and hints of creamy chocolate. While the 2022 vintage emphasized harder tannins, this vintage is defined by generosity and luscious fruit. The Cabernet Sauvignon in particular appears crunchy, youthful and fresh, giving the wine energy and forward momentum.”

97 Points, James Suckling (#42 Wine of 2025)
“A racy and focused wine with aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries, fresh rosemary, sage, thyme and lavender. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and a crunchy finish. Shows excellent length. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and petit verdot. Better in two or three years, but hard not to drink now!”

Fattoria Le Pupille is an elite Italian winery located in the Maremma region of Tuscany. Founded in the 1970s, the estate has become a symbol of quality and innovation in Italian winemaking.

Under the guidance of Elisabetta Geppetti, Le Pupille has spent the last few decades in a category at the top amongst the very best players. She inherited the winery in 1985 and, with a keen eye for potential, expanded the vineyards and elevated the quality of the wines. A pivotal moment came with the collaboration with the legendary winemaker Giacomo Tachis in the early 1980s, which significantly influenced the winery’s style.

Today, these are considered some of the very best Italian collectors one could seek out, especially given the price gap between this bad boy and some of its more well-known competition.
