The magic here comes from winemaker Andrea León, who has earned multiple 100-point scores from multiple publications and at this moment is arguably the very best doing it in all of South America. Her Provence-style blend from Chile’s legendary Apalta vineyards combines 39% Cinsault, 32% Grenache, 22% Syrah, and 7% Mourvedre from 100-year-old pre-phylloxera vines. The result is absolutely magic.

Suckling really nailed this review, calling it “Always pure and gastronomic as well as “pithy and textured with very good weight in the middle and a bone dry finish”.

The Marnier Lapostolle family has a long history in high-end wines and spirits, famously known for Grand Marnier liqueur, dating back to 1827. Their vision was ambitious yet simple: to produce world-class wines in Chile by combining French winemaking expertise with Chile’s exceptional terroirs.

Lapostolle has been a pioneer in the Chilean wine industry, emphasizing sustainability and innovation, and is recognized globally for its quality and ability to express the Chilean landscape. They own over 360 hectares across different vineyards in the Casablanca, Cachapoal, and Colchagua Valleys. They also have a superstar tending the vines, which makes things a little easier!

Andrea Leon is a Michel Rolland disciple who gained international experience working in vineyards in France, Italy, the USA, and New Zealand before returning to Chile. She still works works closely with her mentor, consultant Michel Rolland, but also brings her own innovative perspective, focusing on structure, expressiveness, and a deep connection to the land.
