93 Pts, James Suckling
This offer is really an easy one. Two of the greatest wine pioneers from two different hemispheres (Baron Eric Rothschild from ‘Chateau Lafite Rothschild’ and Nicolas Catena from ‘Catena’) join forces to make a delicious, Bordeaux style Malbec, crafted nearly 4600 feet above sea level and offered for a fantastic price. This beauty that James Suckling called, “Pure Malbec” is a case buy all the way.
An elegant, silky smooth Willamette Valley Pinot Noir crafted by Bertrand de Villane of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti fame. It comes from about 700 feet above sea level in the Dundee Hills atop Winter’s Hill and benefitted from cool, breezy nights. With a round, supple mouthfeel and a sturdy backbone this will age gracefully for a decade and a half easy. You can taste that Burgundian touch!

Last year’s Wine Spectator gave this wine the highest rating a Chianti Classico has ever received. This year it still remains to be seen. The 2017 Castello di Volpaia Chianti Classico Riserva very much resembles its predecessor. It’s big and juicy, with layers of dark fruit, bramble and an extremely long finish. This year, even before Wine Spectator weighs in, the Volpaia has already racked up some big scores
Sourced from two vineyards in the Columbia Valley of Washington State, both with very special iron rich clay that produces pure, juicy Cabernet fruit. Winemaker, Anne Sery made the wine in neutral wood, choosing to feature and emphasize the pristine quality of the fruit. This is bright and juicy Cab, loaded with flavors of cassis and black berries with just a touch of coffee and dark chocolate. It’s the perfect party Cab, delicious by itself or a great complement to just about anything off the grill.
