Jacques Dumont Sauvignon Blanc Val de Loire 2024

90 Points, The Tasting Panel

The new 2024 Jacques Dumont Sauvignon Blanc Val de Loire is a phenomenal value coming out of the Loire Valley, with half the fruit coming from Sancerre itself and half from just outside in Touraine. It already earned 90 points from Tasting Panel and a ‘Best Buy’ designation from Wine Enthusiast.

Here’s what makes this one so attractive: Sancerre has gotten crazy pricey. Heck, even places like Menetou-Salon and Quincy, where we’ve been able to find incredible Sancerre replacements for less, are climbing. But this is the answer. You’re getting Sancerre fruit—literally, half the wine comes from Sancerre—blended with Touraine fruit from 40-year-old vines. That vine age is not something you’d expect at all for an under-$15 Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc, but it’s part of why this wine has so much depth and intensity.

Original price was: $18.00.Current price is: $13.00.

Jacques Dumont Sauvignon Blanc is farmed sustainably, from grower partners in Sancerre and throughout the Loire Valley. The average age of the vines as of the 2025 vintage is now up to a remarkable 40 years.

For years we’ve poured Jacques Dumont’s Sauvignon Blancs at Restaurant Nicholas and the at Barrel & Roost. We’ve offered his Sancerre and his Loire Valley Sauvignon plenty of times in our emails too. It’s one of those wines that never lets you down – staff favorite, customer favorite, consistent quality vintage after vintage.
