The first vintage of Hardin Cabernet was made back in 2003. The mission for the last twenty plus vintages remains the same: find some of the best declassified fruit from the top vineyard sites of Napa Valley and deliver to consumers for less than $50/bottle.
This is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that comes primarily from St. Helena and Oakville with the rest coming from Calistoga. The wine was made by a super competent winemaking team (also protected by an NDA) who is often highly decorated. They saw their estate wines see a chorus of 96-99 point scores in the 2021 vintage, and it’s easy to see why with how stinkin’ good this is.

The oft 100-point winemaker, Jayson Woodbridge had this to say when tasting his 2021 ‘Stargazing’ Sonoma Pinot: “The wine is vibrant and complex with subtle dark fruits and berries, grandmother’s cherry pie, minerals, and a slight touch of rain-soaked earth, intertwined with a balance and very pleasing easy-going luxury. Should have been priced higher but what the hell.” I have no doubt this clerical error will be addressed in the vintages moving forward. But for now, this is a cult Pinot for under $100/bottle.
This is Joe Wagner and Quilt’s inaugural Red blend called Threadcount. It is a total knockout at the price point for this style of wine. It’s a big voluptuous wine and very fruit forward. The nose is straight up dark chocolate dipped raspberries and it tastes of fresh-baked blueberry pie, spice, and a touch of toffee. It’s the kind of quality blend that you’ve come to expect from the family behind Caymus.

The nose presents notes of fresh plum and violets, white pepper, strawberry, hints of spice and aromas from the aging process.
