Gunderloch is one of the most revered and historic wineries in the Rheinhessen region of Germany, particularly renowned for its exceptional Rieslings.

Founded back in 1890 by Carl Gunderloch, a banker with a clear vision, the estate’s destiny was sealed when he acquired the now-legendary Nackenheimer Rothenberg vineyard. This steep, south-facing slope is part of the famous “Roter Hang” (Red Slope), a unique geological formation of 250-million-year-old red slate and clayey soil rich in iron oxide. This distinctive terroir is the heart and soul of Gunderloch, imparting a singular mineral structure, power, and depth to their wines that have earned them international acclaim.
