Giovanni Rosso Barolo Serralunga d’Alba 2020

**Exclusive End-of-Vintage Pricing**

95 Points, James Suckling

The wines at Giovanni Rosso are aged exclusively in large, neutral Slavonian oak botti—no flavor imparted, just slow, natural oxidation that preserves the delicate aromatics of Nebbiolo and builds incredible aging capacity.

Their 2020 Barolo Serralunga d’Alba earned 95 points from James Suckling, who described it as “crisp, with dusty tannins, good concentration of blood orange flavors, tight-knit structure and a polished finish.” Suckling noted that it’s “approachable now due to the balance, but will improve with time.” This is so pretty now, but it’s still just a baby – I think it still has 30-40 years ahead of it, easily.

Original price was: $80.00.Current price is: $50.00.

95 Points, James Suckling
Bright ruby in color, this is a restrained Barolo with wild strawberry, Parma violet, cinnamon and orange peel aromas. The palate is crisp, with dusty tannins, a medium body, good concentration of blood orange flavors, a tight-knit structure and a polished finish. Approachable now due to the balance, but will improve with time. Drink after 2029.

The Rosso family estate is primarily located in the village of Serralunga d’Alba, one of the five key communes that define the Barolo DOCG. Serralunga is known for producing Barolos of exceptional structure, power, and longevity, characterized by firm tannins and deep, dark fruit notes—a style that the Rosso family embodies perfectly. Make no mistake – this is one of Piedmont’s benchmark producers.

Their philosophy is simple: the quality is made in the vineyard. They practice sustainable farming and meticulously manage their parcels, believing the winemaker should merely guide the quality already present in the Nebbiolo grape.
