Giacomo Borgogno & Figli is truly one of the most historic and revered names in the world of Barolo and Piedmontese wine. Founded by Bartolomeo Borgogno in 1761, it is arguably the oldest winery in Barolo, with a legacy that spans over 250 years.

This estate’s history is deeply intertwined with Italy’s own, with Borgogno wines famously served at the banquet celebrating the unification of Italy in 1861, and even for Tsar Nicholas II during his visit in 1866.

What sets Borgogno apart is its unwavering commitment to traditional winemaking. Even after being sold to the Farinetti family (owners of Eataly) in 2008, the philosophy has been to “not change anything,” meticulously adhering to time-honored methods.
