I first discovered the Crochets’ electric lights out Sancerre while dining at Gramercy Tavern. For years, nearly the entirety of the US allocation was reserved for guests at the Union Square Hospitality Group: Gramercy Tavern, Union Square Café, Manhatta and The Modern.
But that all changed with Covid and now, ever since, our friends always make sure to take care of the Nicholas Faithful who helped them enormously through very trying times for the restaurant industry both domestically and abroad.
Their wines boast intense aromatics with crisp stone fruits, Asian pear and that signature Bué minerality streak. These are beautiful wines and for the first time ever, we’re lucky enough to snag their flagship bottling from the sacred Chene Marchand plot in Sancerre.
