The 2018 Nero “Lagnusa” was particularly memorable, earning 92 points from Vinous who called it “long and very lively on the juicy back end” as well as “lovely stuff”. Bright deep red. Mineral and sweet spices complicate red cherry and botanical herbs on the nose and in the mouth. Long and very lively on the juicy, suave back end. Lovely stuff.

The 2018 Sicilia Nero d’Avola Lagnusa is a well-proportioned expression of this native Sicilian grape that shows equal parts primary intensity with blackberry and cherry contrasted against subtle earthy tones. This is Sicily’s Nero d’Avola in all its naked glory. Pair this wine with veal involtini.

Fuedo Montoni has been one of the best producers in Italy for literally hundreds of years, most notably for their work with Nero D’Avola grape in Sicily.
