Domaine Lécheneaut is one of those great Burgundy estates that serious collectors know well and just quietly keep to themselves. Fernand Lécheneaut started it all in the late 1950s with just a small plot of land in Nuits-Saint-Georges—one of the most coveted addresses in all of Burgundy.
In 1986, his sons Philippe and Vincent took over, expanded the holdings, modernized the cellars and pushed the estate toward sustainable and organic farming. Now the third generation has arrived with Vincent’s son Jules joining the family business. Three generations, one shared obsession: making great Pinot Noir from some of Burgundy’s finest ground.
Today the estate manages 10 to 12 hectares across multiple prestigious appellations in the Côte de Nuits. Everything is done by the book. Traditional soil cultivation, green harvesting, manual leaf removal, careful destemming and aging in oak barrels that highlight the unique mosaic of clay, limestone and sandy Burgundy soils. This is old-school Burgundian winemaking done with real conviction—the kind of estate that doesn’t need to advertise because the wine does all the talking.
