One of my favorite estates is Domaine Laroche, one of the venerable estates of Burgundy with a lineage in Chablis that can be traced back 1000 years. That’s 4 zeros in that number….so after that long, you’d think they would have it down. They definitely do.
The newly released 2019 Domaine Laroche Chablis Saint Martin is a knockout, even better than the fantastic 2018 we offered last year. This year it comes armed with a 92 points– fitting for a terrific white Burgundy with a killer nose of citrus rind, quince and thyme that opens up to a dense, packed mid-palate of crunchy fruit. The finish is classic Chablis, chalky and minerally and incredibly smooth. The lengthy acidity is what makes it so versatile at the table and provides structure for great aging potential.
50 miles south, this would easily fetch eighty bucks but today only $33 per bottle or under thirty bucks when you add it to a case to take an additional 10% off your entire order. Pair with roasted poultry, mushroom dishes, anything from the sea and cream sauces for your own date night!

A lifted intensity of lemon and hazelnut on this wine’s subtle nose promises concentration. The palate presents lemon zestiness and a yeasty texture that seems to fizz with freshness. It has lemony resonance, mouthwatering brightness and a rounded body to back it all up.
If it was sourced an hour and change south, it would be double the price.

This is a super elegant Meursault from the family-run estate located in the village of Monthelie, between Volnay and Meursault in the heart of Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune. It leads with nutty aromas of brioche, fresh butter and delicate citrus and is extremely well structured, long and stylish with great purity of fruit.
Trust me, this is a fantastic Menetou-Salon. It’s one of those quintessential bottlings from the tiny region that perfectly exemplifies the early sweet and stone fruit flavors that you get backed by some racy acidty and an absolutely to die for mineral streak. This one comes from the coveted Kimmeridgian limestone terroir and vines that are all at least 40 years in age. That gives this so much energy, concentration and lift – it’s a treat!
The 2016 vintage in Napa was nearly perfect for winemaker Kian Tavakoli (Opus One, Clos du Val). With ideal weather all throughout harvest, he crafted the Faustini Money Road Chardonnay off the famous vineyard located in the coveted Oakville AVA. The picturesque vineyard off Oakville Crossroad is platinum rated, known for its ideal combination of soil & climate and the big A list names that routinely source fruit. Kian’s Money Road Chard is still youthful despite having a few years of age, probably as a result of its 18 months of slumber in 1/4 new Oak.

Of course, the Trefethens’ Chardonnay history is well documented. It dates back to the Judgement of Paris and the 1979 Wine World Olympics hosted by the French publication Gault & Millau, where their Chardonnay finished first overall. That pursuit of excellence is still just as strong as ever, as evidenced by the family’s most recent Chardonnay bottling. It’s a 93-point beauty that absolutely dazzles, especially at its incredibly modest price tag.
