DeLille D2 Estate Red 2018

The 2018 D2 Red aromas explode from the glass with savory dried fruit notes. Cranberries,  coffee, cassis and burnt orange are highlighted by deep, rich barrel tones of nutmeg, baking spices, dark chocolate and a hint of vanilla bean. As the wine develops in the glass, the fruit profile shifts between red and dark fruits, a classic trademark of D2. It’s got an inviting freshness and a structure that is refined despite the wine’s youth. I always recommend trying a couple of bottles of something like this now to enjoy it while it’s still bursting with energy, but if you have the patience, the next 10-15 years will only improve what is already an outstanding bottle of wine.
