This morning I woke up to one of those secret deals so here I sit at lunch – sweating gravy – and offering one of the best Pinot Noirs for the price – for 24 Hours Only. You’ve probably heard my rant about how David Bynum is uniquely positioned to provide better QPR than just about anybody in the game. We were lucky enough to offer his David Ramey-made Chardonnay back in October and many of you took advantage.
Today’s offer is even sweeter. The 2017 Russian River Pinot at the outrageous price of just $21.15 per bottle when you add it into a case is an absolute steal and the perfect accompaniment for next week’s Turkey dinner.
This Pinot was crafted like it came from a master painter. Petaluma Gap for the richness. The darkness and silky tannin provided by the warmer Santa Rosa plains fruit. And then the cherry on top is the rich, deep spice element – provided by a very special lot from the Middle Reach Neighborhood on West Side Road.
The result is spicy and generous Pinot that drinks well above its station due to the quality of the single parcels that were so expertly chosen. 92 points and a Best Buy designate from W&S Magazine. With today’s pricing – it’s just out of this world. 24 Hours Only! And don’t forget to use the holiday promo code: Gobble20 for $20 off all orders of $100 or more.

Greg Morthole sourced fruit for this 2017 from vineyards in the Santa Rosa plain, the Middle Reach of the Russian River and Green Valley. Some of the fruit also came from an estate vineyard in the Petaluma Gap. Those varied sites provided enough generous fruit flavor to balance the wine’s brighter notes of sassafras and earthy notes of roots. It’s a clean, fragrant and spicy pinot noir to pour with grilled pork.

This is an exceptional premier cru offering from one of the most famous, most collected Burgundy producers. Clos des Porrets is a monopole, purchased by the Gouges family in 1933. Grégory claims it produces wine with the best potential of long aging within his range of wines. It has old vines rooted in pink limestone and rich clay, producing dynamite Nuits Saint Georges. Aromatically complex, with violets, black cherries and a touch of Burgundian earth. This is truly extraordinary red Burgundy, an epic wine of power with finesse and just amazing potential.
This is a sensational single-vineyard Merlot made from incredibly tiny clusters, full of some of the most elegant, intensely structured fruit from high atop Sonoma Mountain. Beautiful weight and balance with aromas of blueberries, black currants, sage and a hint of cocoa. It’s got a full, plush mouthfeel, pristine and vibrant fruit and a wonderful smooth finish. Thanks to Chad’s big bet on himself, he was able to make a knockout Sonoma Mountain beauty, without the need for any middleman, helping us to enjoy one of his best creations at an outstanding price.
An amazing, once in a blue moon shot at acquiring all three of the single-vineyard Pinot Noirs from the family behind Caymus at a buyers-only price of $120 (27% OFF). Each single-vineyard in the Wagner portfolio is very different– each with unique soil, climate, region and even Pinot Noir clone. Each is from the 2021 vintage and is new and yet to be scored. Not to worry though, these always rack up big scores and Las Alturas was just #11 wine of the Year from Wine Enthusiast in addition to a 96-pt score. The 2021 single-vineyards are sure to rack up the big scores they always do– but we don’t have the luxury of waiting. Now’s the time for an awesome collector’s opportunity. Pinot and Caymus lovers, rejoice!

“Another brilliant wine from this team is the 2019 Hermitage, which spent 26 months in 50% new French oak and 50% in once-used barrels. Its dense purple color is followed by a massive array of ripe blackberry and cassis fruits interwoven with notes of scorched earth, subtle smoke, beef blood, and crushed rock. It’s big, full-bodied, concentrated, and opulent, yet it has ultra-fine tannins and impeccable balance as well. It’s going to take a decade to shed its baby fat (it offers ample pleasure today) but should have 20-30 years of overall longevity.”
