Daniel Ford Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2023

This is a special Oregon Pinot Noir debut that has way more firepower than most. Anne Sery has outdone herself with this one. It’s bright ruby color in  with gorgeous aromatics of red cherry, wild strawberry, and forest floor. The mouthfeel showcase pure vibrant fruit with that signature Oregon earthiness with everything working in sync. Silky tannins frame flavors of cranberry, pomegranate, and hints of baking spice, with the mineral backbone that comes from Oregon’s volcanic soils. The finish is long and elegant with subtle notes of rose petal. This drinks beautifully now but has the structure to develop over the next 5-10 years. Everything you want from serious Oregon Pinot Noir – complexity without weight, power without heat.

After several years in different roles at RNDC, Colin Eddy accepted the role of National Sales Manager with Penner-Ash Wine Cellars and relocated to Oregon. The rest is history.

When his son Daniel Eddy was born, Colin decided to realize a lifelong dream and start his own wine label. Knowing the Willamette Valley inside and out, he told me that there was only one person he wanted as the winemaker for his project: “It had to be Anne Sery. I couldn’t start this project without her.” Her meticulous attention to detail, her incredible ‘Burgundian inspired’ expressions of Pinot Noir. Knowing that Anne was already making wine for Solena, Hyland Estates and Trousse Chemise, Colin knew it would it would be a tough feat to get her, but their shared loved for their sons helped forge a special friendship which should make us all happy.
