As luck would have it, I just acquired six bottles today of this special Orphan Barrel offering.
Copper Tongue is the project out of Cascade Hollow Distillery in Tullahoma, Tennessee. They’re the ones responsible for making the George Dickel whiskeys but this one is extra special and a little bit more rare because it’s not an American whiskey that is the star of the show.
This offering comes from the legendary Teaninich Distillery in the Northern Highlands of Scotland. They’re an old, very well regarded distillery on the cutting-edge innovation that was founded back in the 1800’s.
This one checks in at 98.4 Proof and is a very distinguished, and complex 14-year-old Single Malt. It was nurtured in European oak casks with the whisky absorbing the character of the wood, resulting in an extraordinary fusion of age and flavor. I see this one being a super hard bottle to procure in the future as you can already start to see the movement on the secondary market.
