It’s finally a buyer’s market once again among top growers in Napa and Sonoma Counties. The extremely abundant 2023 vintage is forcing top brands to make tough decisions on how to make room.

And after the triumphant return of Clos Julien Pinot Noir (after a ten-year hiatus!) dazzled customers once again in March, their follow-up, this intense, luscious Cabernet Sauvignon is sure to have customers singing their praises again.

It’s the perfect environment for Clos Julien’s unique business plan. They struck a crafty deal with one of the foremost Sonoma Cabernet brands in existence, whose top bottlings go for close to $300 a bottle. They could lay into lengthy grape contracts – sell as much as they could under the winery label, and until demand caught up with supply, the CJ team would buy every unsold bottle for cash and at cost.
