Château Turcaud is a family-owned winery located in the heart of Bordeaux’s Entre-Deux-Mers region, situated between the Garonne and Dordogne rivers. It was established in 1973 by Maurice and Simone Robert, who initially purchased a small seven-hectare vineyard.
Over the years, through hard work and a commitment to quality, they expanded the estate to its current size of 50 hectares. The winery’s location is particularly special, set on gentle slopes with a mix of silt, gravel, and clay soils, and it is near the historic La Sauve Majeure Abbey, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Today, the château is run by the founders’ daughter, Isabelle, and her husband, Stéphane Le May. They continue the family’s philosophy of meticulous vineyard management and traditional winemaking, with an eye towards sustainability.
