96 Points, Decanter
Dazzling blueberry, blackcurrant and plum nuances interweave with a neatly hemmed savoury saline component. Elevated and refined with mineral tannins and a cedar oak finish. Gold Medal winner.
Chateau Haut-Jaugue Blanc Saint-Emilion 2022
96 Points (Gold Medal Winner), 2025 Decanter Wine Awards
This is the 2022 Château Haut-Jaugue Blanc courtesy of a 4th-generation family estate on the heights of Saint-Émilion. The best part of Saint-Émilion’s upper plateau is that the limestone and clay soils are virtually identical to those of neighboring Pomerol – home to Pétrus – as well as all the Left Bank First Growths. Same terroir. About 1/100th of the price! And while Burgundy’s best values now run you $35-45/btl and require years to open up, this is drinking beautifully right out of the gates and will still age gracefully for at least another decade and a half.
Decanter awarded it a Gold medal at their international wine award ceremony along with a rave 96-point review, calling it “Elevated and refined with mineral tannins and a cedar oak finish.” It’s the kind of wine you’d expect to cost somewhere in the $40 to $50/btl range. But nope, it’s a heck of a lot less than that! This is a great one to have for now and for the future!

MORE INFO
Chateau Jaugue Blanc or Chateau Haut Jaugue Blanc as it is sometimes referred is a 4 and a half hectare estate located on the heights of the Saint-Emilion appelation. There are some Right Bank beauties being made here each year by the Ratouin family, now in their fourth generation of maintaining this beautiful estate.
Wines from the heights (Haut) of Saint-Émilion deliver unparalleled value in France and worldwide. By combining world-class, limestone-driven terroir and Merlot-Cabernet Franc elegance with prices a fraction of those of adjacent Pomerol or Bordeaux’s Left Bank, they offer legendary aging potential without all the pricey markups.
