Chateau de Cerons Graves Rouge 2020

92 Pts (Cellar Selection), Wine Enthusiast – 92 Pts, Decanter – 91 Pts, Parker’s Wine Advocate

This Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend delivers that classic Left Bank structure with gorgeous cassis and dark cherry fruit, but there’s an elegance here – those silky tannins and bright acidity that come from gravel-over-limestone terroir overlooking the Garonne River.

The critics are all unanimous on this one too – Parker’s Wine Advocate called it “simply stunning”, describing it as having “a terrific core of fruit and a nicely fine-grained finish” before calling it “a real bargain.” Wine Enthusiast went even further – 92 points and their coveted Cellar Selection designation. That’s usually reserved for the $$$ First and Second Growths, not a Graves that we can secure at a steal this morning.

Original price was: $30.00.Current price is: $25.95.

92 Points (Cellar Selection), Wine Enthusiast
“Dense and with firm tannins, this is a concentrated wine. Black fruits show well against this solid core. The wine has a fine future and should be ready from 2025.”

92 Points, Jane Anson – Decanter
“Powerful, with silky tannins, plenty of red cherry, kirsh fruits, good depth with flash of heat on the finish that is well-balanced by fresh acidity. Ambassadeur de Graves.”

91 Points, Parker’s Wine Advocate
The 2020 de Cérons is simply stunning. Possessing a gourmand, bright bouquet with aromas of cassis, flowers, cherries and raspberries, it’s medium to full-bodied and juicy with a terrific core of fruit and a nicely fine-grained finish—a real bargain.

91 Points, James Suckling
“Supple and juicy palate with velvety tannins and a vivid fruit character. Flavorful, attractive and easy to drink.”

This is a 17th-century Chartreuse that once served as the summer residence for the Marquis de Calvimont family – we’re talking about an estate where distinguished guests from around the world have been served exceptional wines for over 300 years. Throughout the 1700s, wines from this property were loaded onto flatboats at the château’s doorstep and shipped down the Garonne to Bordeaux, where they traveled the globe. That’s the kind of history and pedigree we’re dealing with.

Today, Xavier and Caroline Perromat are the passionate guardians of this 30-hectare gem, and they’re crafting wines that are absolutely singing. This Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend delivers that classic Left Bank structure with gorgeous cassis and dark cherry fruit, but there’s an elegance here – those silky tannins and bright acidity that come from gravel-over-limestone terroir overlooking the Garonne River.
