97 Points, James Suckling
Very perfumed with flowers and sandalwood. Medium- to full-bodied with very fine tannins that are so long and intense. This will compete with top Brunellos. Linear and driven at the end.
Castello di Bossi ‘Berardo’ Chianti Classico Riserva 2021
94 Points, James Suckling – 92 Points, Parker’s Wine Advocate
I tasted a sample of this beauty last week. All I can say is: Wow! This is a gorgeous, silky smooth Sangiovese from organically grown grapes at nearly 1000 feet above sea level in dark clay soils. It spent three years of aging: two in barrel and one in bottle. All that time gives you such incredibly balance and smoothness, with black cherries, strawberries, fresh herbs and some baking spices. Medium to full-bodied with refined tannins that create tension and focus. Simply a beautiful wine.
