Castello di Bossi ‘Berardo’ Chianti Classico Riserva 2021

94 Points, James Suckling – 92 Points, Parker’s Wine Advocate

I tasted a sample of this beauty last week. All I can say is: Wow! This is a gorgeous, silky smooth Sangiovese from organically grown grapes at nearly 1000 feet above sea level in dark clay soils. It spent three years of aging: two in barrel and one in bottle. All that time gives you such incredibly balance and smoothness, with black cherries, strawberries, fresh herbs and some baking spices. Medium to full-bodied with refined tannins that create tension and focus. Simply a beautiful wine.

Original price was: $40.00.Current price is: $27.50.

Very perfumed with flowers and sandalwood. Medium- to full-bodied with very fine tannins that are so long and intense. This will compete with top Brunellos. Linear and driven at the end.

If you’ve heard of Castello di Bossi, you probably have winemaker and entrepreneur Marco Bacci to thank. Since taking over the winery in 1998, the man behind Renieri and several other wineries throughout Tuscany has pumped incredible new life into this now-booming estate, thrusting it firmly back into the Tuscan spotlight.
