The 2019 ‘Tenuta Nuova’ Brunello di Montalcino is always one of the most exciting wines from the region and it is once again nothing short of brilliant. This begins to impress with gorgeous ripe characteristics of blackberries and dark cherries along with warm exotic spices, crushed wildflowers, toasted nuances, and hints of wild herbs that all form the incredibly nuanced aromatics. The palate is medium to full-bodied and remarkably structured with beautifully defined contours. This goes on to impress with outstanding concentration and balance, with a beautiful ripe core which is underlined by a lovely streak of acidity that provides wonderful freshness heading into the long finish. This is an utterly fascinating wine from Casanova de Neri that should be quite accessible in its youth and go on to offer a drinking window that should easily spans two decades.

The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova has a dark vein of toasted spice, black fruit, ink, blackberry compote, licorice and star anise. Dark as night, it is exceptionally well crafted with a robust delivery of concentrated fruit and solid tannic structure. You can count on excellent cellar potential, or at a minimum, serve it with a classic steak.”
