Carl Roy East Side Cuvee Napa Valley 2021 (Case-Only Price)

Without a doubt, Carl Roy is one of the best deals in Napa, each and every vintage. However, I was starting to get a little nervous when I hadn’t heard from them in a quite a while. That all changed when the 2021 East Side cuvee hit my desk last week.

They’re always good but this one blew previous vintages out of the water. So much so that I got on the phone with their clandestine winemaker to find our exactly why.

The 2021 Napa Valley East side Cuvee is an instant classic. From the first whiff to the moment it hits the lips, its clear that this is a fabulously concentrated, serious wine: black in color, and featuring aromas of cassis, cedar and chocolate-tinged purple fruit. The mouthfeel is plush and voluptuous with a firm, solid finish that speaks to its potential for considerable aging.
