“The 2022 Chardonnay 3D comes from a sandy, 10-acre vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills and was brought up all in neutral oak. It’s medium gold hue and is followed by a ripe, exotic perfume of honeyed stone fruits, orange blossom, chalk, flower oil, and brioche-like nuances. This beauty is medium to full-bodied, concentrated and incredibly textured on the palate, with nicely integrated acidity, terrific, mid-palate depth, and a finish that won’t quit. Don’t miss this beauty”
Brewer-Clifton Chardonnay 3D Sta. Rita Hills 2022
97 Points, Jeb Dunnuck
I got the chance to taste this one recently and it is a delight. It’s world class Chardonnay that really showcases what is possible with a cooler climate Santa Rita Hills site. It’s beautifully balanced and delicate with elegant, layered flayers of lemon meringue, bright citrus fruit, almonds and white flowers with a little bit of salinity and some honeycomb notes. Every year this is amongst the highest scoring Chardonnays in the world and it is because there are few winemakers alive that have as deft a touch as Greg Brewer. This new release is worth every penny.

MORE INFO
Greg Brewer is easily one of the most respected winemakers in all of California and his work with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in particular is very well-known. He’s been one of the driving forces in Southern California’s wine industry for decades and is considered one of the most influential figures in addition to his talents in the vineyards and in the lab.
Together, he and his wife Alison started Brewer-Clifton, a small, family-owned business that focuses on bringing out the very best in each wine in small lots. Their Chardonnay is consistently highly-praised for its quality and complexity and their bread and butter bottling is the 3-D flagship white wine bottling. The name “3D” is a nod to the wine’s multi-dimensional character, which is evident in its aromatics, flavors, and texture. In the 2022 vintage, they hit this bottling out of the park like Aaron Judge waiting on a four-seam fastball. It’s a beauty and it should age gracefully for the next 20-30 years.
