Bledsoe Family Cabernet Sauvignon Walla Walla 2022

Last Year: #17 Wine of the Year (2024 Wine Spectator Top 100)
This Year: 95 Points, Decanter – 93 Points, Jeb Dunnuck

Last year, Drew Bledsoe and company earned a Top 20 spot on Wine Spectator’s Top 100 list solidifying his new venture as much more than just a hobby. This is a very serious wine project in Washington state that has become one of highest rated and hardest to get over the past decade.

The Bledsoe Family’s Walla Walla Cabernet Sauvignon represents the entry-level into their luxury portfolio, which is one of Washington’s best. Armed with some of the best growers and winemaker in the Pacific Northwest, their accolades have come in as heavy as college offers once came in for the nation’s top quarterback prospect. This one is a deep, dark Cabernet with lots of delicious black fruits, some cocoa and black olive notes, a splash of minerality and no shortage of sophistication or depth.

Original price was: $55.00.Current price is: $45.00.

95 Points, Decanter
Exhibiting a violet, rose and dark berry fruit redolence which billows across the nose and palate and mingles with the plush tannins and lingering length.

93 Points, Jeb Dunnuck
A pretty bouquet of currant and cassis lead to an elegant palate of full-bodied suppleness, with the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon ultimately quite pretty and well-balanced in style. Supple tannins integrate well to the point of melting while the oak remains supportive in the background.

Of course most of the people who know Drew Bledsoe, know him as the NFL star quarterback, but at the root of him, he’s just a kid from a small wine town in Washington.

After his NFL days, he and his wife Maura dove head first into the Walla Walla Valley, the famed Cabernet Sauvignon region in Washington – bought up as much land as they could and launched two (now) award-winning wineries in Bledsoe Wine Estates and Doubleback.
