Blanton’s Nicholas Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon #1

*Nicholas Bourbon Exclusive: My First Barrel of Blanton’s*

Jim Murray once famously labeled Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon as ‘Liquid gold.” But that’s just the everyday bottling that people fight over. It doesn’t hold a candle to the private barrel that I was able to select on my trip to Kentucky. I can’t believe that we were able to pick out one of our own.

I went down there and was treated to 18 different samples. All were outstanding. I’m talking about liquid that would make most bourbon collectors weep. After tasting through them all, I was torn between two single barrels, but the one I ultimately chose is going to blow people away. This juice is unreal – I just can’t wait to share it with my Nicholas Bourbon Buyers Club.

Original price was: $180.00.Current price is: $145.00.

In the winter of 1881, Albert Bacon Blanton was born into one of the first families of bourbon history. At the age of sixteen, he started work in the Distillery as an office boy and fast became a leading pioneer in the development of bourbon.

From the time he was made company president in 1921 until his retirement in 1952, his Distillery expanded from 44 to 144 buildings to become the largest Distillery of its day. During that period Colonel Blanton created his very special and limited supply of bourbon – his private reserve – handpicked and stored in what now is known as the famous Warehouse H.

Introduced in 1984, Blanton’s namesake bourbon was the first ever Single Barrel Bourbon sold commercially. The Single Barrel Bourbon is the first of its kind. I had heard rumors that people could get their own single barrel but I never actually saw it in person. That was before our barrel rolled in on Wednesday straight from Kentucky. To say that I’m excited would be a giant understatement!
