For the first time ever, Bisol, the founding family of Prosecco has decided to make a Prosecco Rose and we are the first in the U.S. to have our hands on this baby. An intricate blend of Pinot Nero and Glera Tonda coming from the Veneto region in Northern Italy.
This one is incredibly seductive on the nose and crisp and refreshing on the palate with tiny creamy bubbles that completely seal the deal.
Pair this prosecco with creamy sauces, seafood, and spicy Asian entrees.
From Soave Classico’s most privileged volcanic-limestone hillsides, this is a high-tone northern Italian white bursting with white flowers, honeysuckle and stone fruits. Crisp and clean, finishing juicy and surprisingly long. A perfect complement to all kinds of seafood dishes, summer vegetables, poultry and light cheeses. There is no old-vine, small lot Pinot Grigio that exists for anywhere near the price of this one.
This is classic Cotes de Provence Rosé from one of the oldest, most respected producers in the region. With over 800 years of winemaking, Peyrassol is best known for their iconic clay and limestone soils that produce mouthwatering Rhone blends. Their 2019 Reserve Des Templiers Rosé is wonderfully crisp and energetic. With a mix of cherries, mango, nectarines and lemon zest flavors and a piercing, dry backbone that ties it all together and gives it a lasting finish.
The Piccoli family has been farming for generations dating back to 1600 and their dedication to the land shows. In addition to their 23 hectacres under vine, Gianni and his three sons sustainably farm grapes, apricots, peaches and kiwi on the shores of Lake Gardam, where old vines rooted in gravelly, porous soil, yield an aromatic, vibrant red blend of Corvina and Rodinella. This Bardolino “Le Fontane” features a a juicy core of cherry, pomegranate and orange zest with a high-toned mineral finish that is a great compliment to a pizza served up Margherita style or even with some Sopressata thrown on top.
Poggio Al Sole’s high elevation vineyards bring out the Burgundy-side of Chianti Classico, producing lush wines with just a touch of earthy rusticity and great length. The 2018 is elegant, with great aromatic complexity and length. The nose is really special, with soaring aromatics of black cherry, anise and peony. Give it time to unwind in the glass. It’s fresh and long on the palate, with the fine tannic structure that defines ever classic vintage, making it great at the table tonight and any night for the next decade.
