Bib & Tucker 6-Year Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey

Category

Bib & Tucker is one of Tennessee’s finest distilleries. They follow the Lincoln County process which filters the bourbon through sugar maple charcoal before it goes into the barrel to age. But that’s not the end of it. Because Tennessee has hot summers and cold winters, the barrels actually shrink and expand with each change, creating more contact with the wood and developing a super smooth, yet very complex bourbon.

When I opened it, I was immediately greeted with the smell of sweet pecan pie and freshly baked banana bread, with some sandalwood and a little vanilla from the oak. The palate is smooth and well balanced, with some nuttiness, dried fruit and a little maple syrup, with a hint of spice on the backend. I usually don’t go for Tennessee Whisky, but this one happens to be deserving of its big scores.

It was good for 96 points from the Tasting Panel, and for the Robb Report who included it in their ‘Top 10 Tennessee Whiskies to Drink Right Now’ list. Whisky Advocate gave it a 93 and even included this six-year small batch bottling at #14 on their coveted Top 20 Whisky of the Year list in 2021. They called it a “lip-smacking whiskey with a color of caramel, and an alluring aroma of sweet baking spices” and then finished their review with an emphatic endorsement, calling it “intense, tasty, no-nonsense bourbon.”

Original price was: $55.00.Current price is: $45.00.
