An amazing, once in a blue moon shot at acquiring all three of the single-vineyard Pinot Noirs from the family behind Caymus at a stellar price. Each single-vineyard in the Wagner portfolio is very different– each with unique soil, climate, region and even Pinot Noir clone. Each is from the new 2021 vintage, but not to worry, in an exceptional year in Napa Valley these are humming right out of the gate and all received big scores. They’re always just big, expressive and lights out! Now’s the time for an awesome collector’s opportunity. Pinot and Caymus lovers, rejoice!

“The 2021 Malbec Reserva, from Vistalba, Lujan de Cuyo, was 60% aged in barrels for 12 months. Purple in color. The nose presents notes of fresh plum and violets, white pepper, strawberry, hints of spice and aromas from the aging process. It’s initially indulgent in the mouth, with good fat, and volume and a velvety texture. The flavors are bold and full-bodied. This 2021 overdelivers at the price.” -Vinous

Avignonesi’s wines took Nicholas Wines by storm last year with their ‘Grifi’ SuperTuscan, a highly rated, highly delicious bottle that put the winery firmly on my radar. It’s a great bottle of wine, but at this price – it completely overdelivers which is exactly what you’re looking for.
Chad’s 2020 McKinley Springs Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is drop dead gorgeous and actually makes zero sense at all at this price. Dark purple to the rim with aromas of black fruits, violets, creme de cassis and a hint of spice. On the palate, full-bodied, round and juicy with elegance and the gorgeous, pure fruit– red and black currants, blackberries and a touch of sweet tobacco. It’s a delicious bottle of Cab.

“The 2020 Franc-Mayne is an exotic, heady wine. Inky dark fruit, chocolate, licorice and espresso lend an air of dark, sepia-toned beauty throughout. Plush, silky and generous, the 2020 is wonderfully deep and layered. Those qualities continue to emerge effortlessly over time. This ample Saint-Émilion has so much to offer.”
