Belle Glos Clark and Telephone Pinot Noir 2024

96 Points, Tasting Panel

It seems like every year since its inception that the Wagner Family’s Belle Glos Clark and Telephone Pinot Noir wows critics and earns some lavish praise in the process. That should come as little surprise. With access to some of the best Pinot Noir fruit in Napa, this cuvee is always great, but in an otherworldly 2024 vintage, this is the best its ever been and this massive early 96-point review from the Tasting Panel is just the start of what is going to be a very, very generous vintage not just for the Wagner family, but for the best of the best throughout California. This is as juicy and concentrated as you could want, with lots of elegance behind it. Medium to full-bodied with great balance, this is one flashy Pinot Noir.

96 Points, The Tasting Panel
Dark cherries soaked in chocolate sweeten the palate. The rich contour of the wine’s suede mouthfeel saturates with sweet tobacco, black strap molasses, raspberries, and hibiscus. A superb vintage.

Last year’s iteration of the “Clark & Telephone” was a huge success with an immediate sellout thanks in part to the rave 96-point review it got from the Tasting Panel. But if you thought the outrageously good 2024 vintage wasn’t going to at least match that 96-point score, you are underestimating a truly all-time vintage throughout California, and one that the industry sorely needed.

Ruby to the rim the Clark & Telephone opens with inviting aromas of crushed cherries, cranberry and raspberry jam, cedar and cinnamon. It’s bold and full-bodied, especially for a Pinot Noir with juicy notes of cherry pie, blueberries and blackberry and a silky texture with deep, rich undertones that leave a wonderful aftertaste after a nice long finish.
