Nobody else can quite deliver the value and excellence that this great Tuscan estate has brought the Nicholas Wines faithful. This is a seamless 50/50 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese. Beautifully structured with dense layers of dark fruit, silky smooth Sangiovese tannins, and a strong acidic backbone from the Cabernet. This gives it the lift, elegance, and age-ability to last for the long haul.
James Suckling gave it 93 points calling it “Bright and focused” with “aromas of fresh dark and blue fruit, fine herbs, crushed stones and a hint of walnuts.” He also called this beauty “well structured, with a firm juicy profile and a fresh, minerally finish.” He’s right on the money!

Backed by a very rich and very environmentally conscious investor, Avignonesi has been transformed from a centuries-old classic Tuscan winery into a re-invented, industry-leading, sustainable and biodynamic winery with organic wines and very minimal intervention taking place in an immaculate, state-of-the-art winemaking facility.
All in all, it’s one of the more impressive Italian estates. About 450 acres of vineyards fully certified organic and biodynamic. All wines are vegan and are made exclusively with grapes cultivated on the estate. A chef runs their own culinary program on-site, food and wine pairings, wine classes, the whole works. I mean they’re really dialed in.
