Belle Glos Taylor Lane Vineyard 2014 (1.5L Magnum)

Categories , ,

“Taylor Lane is the place where I cut my teeth learned a whole lot about winemaking. The site is totally wild and Burgundian-esque with cool breezy nights. I made a series of big wines there that I quite enjoyed for about a decade. But I knew that wasn’t what the vineyard wanted me to be making.

Just a few miles from the Pacific and adjacent to William Selyem’s Summa Vineyard, these were grapes that begged for a true Burgundian treatment. So I set my personal tastes aside and brought in a Burgundian winemaking legend (he would only come if I agreed to never use his name) to help with those first few harvests.

Like great Burgundies, this is built for the long haul, so I only bottle them in Mags and I only release them when they’re ready.”

– Joe Wagner, Winemaker

“Belle Glos’ first wine under the newly minted West Sonoma Coast AVA and a cellared release, this majestic vineyard brings plum with a slight burnt edge in the glass and boasts aromas of freshly tilled land, a rich oak forest in Autumn, and Crème de Cassis. Once on the palate, the acidity sparks a fire of smoked caramel and cinnamon spiked cranberry sauce.
