I was able to secure a few bottles of this beauty for all my Big bourbon lovers out there. It was aged for 8.5 years even though there’s no age statement on the bottle and was bottled at its original 125 Proof. It’s an inviting yet strong Bourbon that’s full of flavor and boasts an incredible deep and smoky taste, superbly balanced with sweet vanilla and notes of caramel.
This bourbon underwent a distinct filtering process, forgoing the typical chill filtration and passing only through a plate and frame filter. This allowed the bourbon to maintain a robust proof for bottling, as well as a full, rich and bold flavor.
This one has won a number of Spirit competitions and was Jim Murray’s World Whiskey of the Year in 2020.

Michter’s always provides some of the best value in American Whiskey and they never miss. This one is their best bang for the buck bottling that they make. This is so smooth and delicious, you would never know this is bottled at 84.8 Proof. This is a bit of a spicy number with those signature Rye peppery notes, butterscotch, creme brulee and a hint of toasted oak. One of my all-time favorite under $50 bottles.
This particular beauty is not only Barrel Proof but also sees extended aging in 18-year old ex-Bourbon barrels which I think adds some roundness and weight to the mid-palate and gives you a smoother finished product. Another advantage that Old Hickory has is they have Pam Soule, Seagrams master blender in charge, and she has helped their quality reach heights never seen before from this historic distillery.
This is the very first of its kind – a Reposado Rosa Single Barrel. Código has been working on a “Reposado Rosa” tequila project for the King of Country and wanted to age their juice in some crazy expensive wine barrels. Might as well get em from one of Napa’s very best. I can’t tell you the winery because they asked me not to but I can tell you that their bottles are on our wine list for north of $1,000 each. I managed to snag exactly one barrel away from the Hall of Famer- the only person who gets this exclusive Reposado. Super smooth with hints of vanilla, caramel, citrus & grilled pineapple. I’m the only one in the country who has this. Released just in time for Valentine’s Day – where a bottle of delicious pink Tequila with a bouquet of flowers sounds like a pretty great gift.
This is a very rare beauty and one of the few private barrels that Jefferson’s does at 100 Proof. It leads with sweet aroma of warm panatone. Then the sweet delectable taste of fruit and honey. A warm burning at the end. And the flavor of this nectar stays on your taste buds more than a couple of minutes. Best consumed relaxing and enjoying on a chilly winter day.
