93 Points, Vinous – 92 Points, Parker’s Wine Advocate
Longtime Argentinian correspondent Luis Guiterrez said the wines at Escorihuela Gascón are “getting better and better every year.” High praise, considering their storied reputation. Their first organic, vegan, and biodynamic wine, the 1884 Organic Single-Vineyard Malbec Escorihuela, is downright delicious, so it’s no surprise that it sent shockwaves throughout the Malbec community. Parker’s Wine Advocate gave the wine a 92-point score, a huge score considering today’s price tag. But Antonio Galloni’s Vinous echoed Parker’s admiration, going a point further with a 93-point review. Vinous called the wine “bold and juicy with a taut profile and well-defined, long-lasting flavor.”
92 Points, Vinous – 91 Points, Wine & Spirits
“The 2021 Malbec Reserva, from Vistalba, Lujan de Cuyo, was 60% aged in barrels for 12 months. Purple in color. The nose presents notes of fresh plum and violets, white pepper, strawberry, hints of spice and aromas from the aging process. It’s initially indulgent in the mouth, with good fat, and volume and a velvety texture. The flavors are bold and full-bodied. This 2021 overdelivers at the price.” -Vinous
