Old Forester 1924 Ten-Year Old Whiskey (2026 Release)
Old Forester has been one of the best distilleries for a while now. Their special releases for me are what set them apart from their competition. This is an uber-rare annual release that started in 2024 to celebrate Old Forester’s 100-year anniversary. It’s one of the most anticipated releases of the year and the 2026 edition absolutely does not disappoint. This is as good as its ever been – an enticing combination of graham cracker, raspberry pie, all spice, toasted oak and black pepper all playing together as one. It finishes with notes of caramel, cocoa, dried fruits and nuts and a hint of tobacco. It’s a stunning release – I just wish there was more to go around!

If anyone asks who makes my favorite Bourbon, the answer is always the same: Old Forester. I just love those guys. The issue over the last few years has been that they have not been releasing private barrels. To tell you the truth, even their regular bottlings have become really hard to find. Their Birthday Bourbon has legitimately become even harder to find then Pappy and can be just as expensive too.
This is a super-limited annual release that comes out every January. The 2026 Edition is as good as its ever been, but unfortunately, we have so few bottles to go around.
