Kongsgaard Napa Valley Chardonnay 2023

What can you even say about Kongsgaard? Simply put: this is one of the best wineries in the world.

After 20 years of winemaking in the Napa Valley (Newton, Luna, Arietta), John Kongsgaard launched his own brand of Chardonnay with the 1996 vintage. The core of their endeavor is the ten acre vineyard planted on a rocky hilltop in southeast Napa Valley which has belonged to the Kongsgaard family since the 1920’s, this is the source for The Judge Chardonnay. The Kongsgaard wines are know for their power and intensity, but also for their amazing complexity and abitlty to age.

Their Napa Valley Chardonnay is the bell standard that all of Napa Valley is chasing when it comes to Chardonnay. The wine is grown in the two great Carneros vineyards of Lee Hudson and Larry Hyde, arguably the top two locations in all of Napa to source Chardonnay.
