The 2023 Gigondas Les Hauts De Montmirail is cut from the same cloth yet brings a touch more Syrah character in its darker berries, peppery herbs, graphite, and crushed stone-like aromatics. It’s full-bodied, concentrated, has remarkable purity, and a gorgeous finish. This cuvée is 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and the rest Mourvèdre that’s from higher elevation, terraced parcels. It was destemmed and aged in 50% new French oak casks.

Grown on calcareous soils, this GSM blend presents a deeply earthy, almost meaty nose, with blackberry, black licorice, wild herbs, and violets creating a captivating bouquet. The palate is lush yet balanced, with acidity that lifts dark cherry, cassis, and blackberry flavors, all framed by a soft stony finish.
Domaine Brusset is one of the most highly respected, family-owned producers in the Southern Rhône, with a history spanning several generations. To say that Gigondas is their ‘bread and butter’ would be an understatement. These guys are one of the undisputed kings of the entire region.
