93 Points, James Suckling
Aromatic and elegant, this has aromas and flavors of wild mushrooms, cloves, cedar and wild cherries. It’s medium-bodied, bright and fresh, with excellent tension and a tight tannin frame. Drink or hold.

“Expressive and handsomely sculpted, with rich raspberry and guava flavors accented by dusky spices and black tea. Builds tension toward refined tannins.”
Cody Wright, the talented winemaker behind Purple Hands Winery, is a testament to the powerful influence of legacy combined with a distinct, personal vision. As the son of Oregon Pinot Noir legend Ken Wright, he grew up immersed in the rhythms of the vineyard and the art of winemaking.
While he inherited a deep understanding of Oregon’s terroir and the meticulous farming practices that define it, Cody has forged his own path with a clear, unique style. He founded Purple Hands in 2005, naming it as a tribute to the lasting stain of grape juice on a winemaker’s hands after a long harvest season, a physical symbol of the hard work and passion that go into every bottle.
His approach is both deeply rooted in tradition and refreshingly modern, allowing him to craft wines that are as expressive of their individual sites as they are of his own winemaking voice.
Purple Hands Winery has quickly developed a reputation for producing elegant, terroir-driven Pinot Noirs that are both powerful and polished. Cody’s winemaking philosophy focuses on showcasing the individual character of each vineyard, with a particular emphasis on low-intervention techniques to let the fruit and site speak for themselves. The grapes from some of the Willamette Valley’s most esteemed vineyards across various AVAs, with Cody choosing parcels that highlight the diversity of the region.
