Far Niente had already ascended to the very top of California winemaking when they dropped the bombshell report in the mid 2000s that they were buying land in Russian River Valley and starting a new project along with Nickel & Nickel with the goal of making RRV Pinot Noir exclusively.
‘Les Pommiers’ is their first Pinot Noir release, and gets its name from the apple orchards that once blanketed the RRV. Those orchards represent some of the finest vineyards today, including spots from the coveted Green Valley area. It’s quintessential Sonoma County Pinot Noir – fleshy and fresh with red and black fruits, baking spice and super silky tannins.
