Thomas Fogarty Bella Vida Vineyard Chardonnay 2021

“Readers should do whatever they can to taste these wines.” -Antonio Galloni

94 Points, Wine Enthusiast – 94 Points, Vinous – 93 Points, Parker’s Wine Advocate

This comes from their beloved estate single-vineyard: Bella Vida Vineyard. It’s a gorgeous site in the Santa Cruz Mountains, planted in at 550 feet elevation, just four miles from the Pacific Ocean. That proximity to the coast matters. It creates cool nights, bracing sea spray influence, and the kind of natural acidity you can’t replicate anyway else. The result is electric, acid-forward, pure-fruited Chardonnay that bridges the gap between oak lovers and stainless steel devotees. It’s super bright and elegant with just enough richness to satisfy both camps.

Triple 93+ point scores. 94 from Wine Enthusiast who called out the “Ample body where lemon zest and white pepper flavors add sharp spice to the subtly buttered core.” 94 more from Antonio Galloni and Vinous who called it “layered and beautifully persistent” and more importantly “will come alive at the dinner table.”

Original price was: $40.00.Current price is: $25.00.

94 Points (Editors’ Choice), Wine Enthusiast
Lightly toasted almond, lemon zest and delicately creamy aromas invite the nose into this bottling. There is ample body to the palate, where lemon zest and white pepper flavors add a sharp spice to the subtly buttered core. Drink now-2039.

94 Points, Vinous
The 2021 Chardonnay La Vida Bella Vineyard is a potent, savory wine. Strong herbal and earthy tones are front and center while fruit is pushed more into the background. Layered and beautifully persistent, the Vida Bella Chardonnay will come alive at the dinner table.

“These are, without question, the most impressive wines I have tasted from Fogarty. Longtime winemaker Nathan Kandler and proprietor Tommy Fogarty hit it out of the park. The Chardonnays are deep, tense and loaded with energy. Winemaking is minimalist. Spontaneous fermentations, modest use of new oak and some stem influence in the Pinots are the norm. Aging in wood is around 16 months, on the long side for California and ideal for these wines. Readers should do whatever they can to taste these wines.” -Antonio Galloni, Vinous

What can you even say about this? We have a once in a lifetime opportunity with the legendary Thomas Fogarty trying to lighten his cellar as he patches the torch to the next generation. This an exclusive offer with exclusive pricing you won’t find anywhere else. I had this in our Ho Ho Ho Case but now, I’m feeling releasing it into the wild on its own.
