Here are a few of Nicholas’ favorite bubbles picks packaged together, wrapped up and ready to go under the tree. If there’s one thing for sure it’s everyone loves some great sparkling wines. The best part is these three each are so uniquely different. One a sparkling Cab Franc that is unlike any sparkler out there with its distinct flavors, one crisp highly rated Italian bubbles and one, a Cremant that is a constant on Michelin restaurant wine lists as the ringer you think is Champagne, but really is the amazing Barmes family and their Cremant d’Aslace at a far more attractive price point.

A Restaurant Nicholas customer favorite! Seamlessly woven in black cherry and cocoa, Frank Family Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 is sumptuous and seductive in structure and complexity. The palate offers flavors of hazelnut, baked plum, and cloves while brilliant acidity on the finish balances the concentration of flavors and tannins.
What separates this Valpolicella from its peers is the grapes used were grown for this wine specifically. This isn’t Amarone seconds, it’s a precisely crafted and seductive rendition of the Corvina grape that will appeal to Red Burgundy lovers. Highly versatile and elegant, Ca La Bionda’s Valpolicella mesmerizes with red and blackberries, anise and Asian spices with serious depth.
Named after the iconic Whiskey Salesman and namesake of the distillery until becoming Buffalo Trace, the 2015 iteration of the famous bottling finished at 69.1% alc. It has probably the best nose on any of the George T Stagg’s I can remember. Wonderful aromas of chocolate, coffee, caramel and a hint of vanilla. An overwhelmingly powerful punch as these so often do, but with just over 84% of the original whiskey lost to evaporation in this bottling, every sip that you have gives you a full display.
This wine is textbook Sancerre Blanc from the village of Bué, the highest in elevation in Sancerre with the most calcareous soil. It is a chiseled, tightly wound and incredibly complex Sauvignon Blanc, which I’d argue is one of the best in the world. In the 2019 vintage, the Carrou has a brilliant pale green color and soaring aromatics of green apples, pear and jasmine.
