This is the first sake we’ve offered that was just 100% made to be enjoyed with food. Not as bright and floral as the others we’ve featured, but definitely way more food-friendly.
This baby flashes great umami flavors – it’s super fresh, and a little earthy. The thing I love the most is the flavors of freshly picked morel and chanterelle mushrooms that effortlessly mix with lemongrass, melon, and more savory notes. This is old-school sake with rich rice, cocoa, and loads of character. Perfect for the dinner table!

Shichi Hon Yari Junmai “The Seven Spearsmen” comes from the highly regarded Tomita Brewery, founded all the way back in the 1540s and is now managed by the 15th generation of the family. This is actually the third-oldest brewery in all of Japan.

The Tomita’s named their sake after the seven spearsmen who became legends at the Battle of Shizugatake, fought just outside their town in 1583. These warriors crushed their enemy and brought victory to their leader, making this the “sake of victory.”
