Schrader Double Diamond Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Having already established one of the most successful wineries in America, Fred Schrader created Double Diamond as part of his continuing quest to make the best Cabernet Sauvignon that Napa Valley can offer back in 2001.

He tasked acclaimed winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown with the winemaking duties and let him execute his own vision. Needless to say, it has paid off tremendously. This unique expression of the region carries on the tradition of earning critical acclaim and drawing passionate fans that Fred began in 1998 with Schrader Cellars. After a three-year hiatus, Double Diamond returned by popular demand in 2018. And the next vintage, their 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon ended up as Wine Spectator’s #1 Wine of 2022.

Original price was: $95.00.Current price is: $85.00.

#1 Wine of the Year Wine Spectator (2019 Vintage)

There’s not a whole lot to say about this one other than I wish I got a lot more. I was allocated just one six-pack of last year’s Wine Spectator Wine of the Year, in the brand new 2021 vintage. Multiple 100-point winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown crafts an absolutely gorgeous dark-fruited Cabernet Sauvignon in the new vintage that the folks at Schrader think is even better than their 2019. How is that even possible???
