This superstar producer in Southern France released a masterclass with their latest Effet Papillon Rosé. Unfortunately for us, it probably won’t even be around for a full week. This beauty is absolutely packed with aromatics coming from the 100% Grenache (as many of the best Southern French Rosés are). It’s so fresh and delicious with seductive aromas of nectarine, Bing cherry, and orange with a hint of lemon zest. It’s as vibrant, bright, and dry as ever, making it the ideal wine to enjoy with food. However, this Rosé is drinking so stinking well, with its layers of complexity and structure, it’s more than worthy of enjoying chilled on its own, where you can sit with and get taken away.

This is a walk-off home run of a Rosé by one of Southern France’s top producers – at an insanely gulpable price. You’ve probably heard me talk about Marjorie and Stephane before. But even if you have, it bears repeating.
Nearly 20 years ago, they took a chance on an ancient vineyard in Languedoc-Roussillon. The decision to buy the abandoned vineyard didn’t seem to make much sense at first glance, but Marjorie was convinced there was something special in the quartz-rich clay soil. As it turns out, she couldn’t have been more correct.
The soil is picture-perfect for the indigenous grapes in the region. The duo’s wines are widely considered some of the best in Southern France. Eventually, even the sommelier set in Paris caught on to Roc Des Anges. These days, the wines are found at some of the top Michelin-starred restaurants, not just in Paris and in France, but in the States as well.
