Robert Foley Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Equally impressive is the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, which is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Atlas Peak and Calistoga. Opaque purple to the rim, with beautiful notes of charcoal embers, melted road tar, truffle, blackberry and cassis, this big, unctuously textured, full-bodied wine has incredible density and richness, a full-bodied mouthfeel and a phenomenal finish. It is young, but undeniably impressive. Give it another 2-3 years of cellaring and drink it over the following two decades-plus.

Robert Foley, of course, became well-known during his 15-year stint as the winemaker at Pride Mountain Vineyards, high above Spring Mountain. However, he has also made wine at other well-known sites known for quality, including Hourglass, Switchback and Paloma.
