PlumpJack Oakville Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
PlumpJack Winery sits squarely in the heart of Napa Valley’s renowned Oakville region, surrounded by a 42-acre estate vineyard highly-regarded for the quality of its Cabernet Sauvignon. They are credited as one if, if not the first Napa Valley cult wineries. Both their winery building and their vineyard date back to the 1800s, when winemaking pioneers first took advantage of a unique position on the valley floor.
This is the very time I’ve been able to score the flagship wine from PlumpJack’s collection but I only managed to pry 12 bottles away from their regular distribution channels. Previously we’ve had Adaptation, Cade and Odette, but this is the big ticket item. Snag a few bottles while we have em!

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot and 5% Malbec. Deep garnet-purple in color, it charges out of the gate with bold blackcurrant and blackberry preserves scents, plus hints of tilled soil, truffles and unsmoked cigars. The full-on opulent, rich, velvety palate is decadently laden with black fruit preserves and earthy accents, finishing long with a lively lift.
