Dalla Terra has solidified their reputation throughout the entire country, offering up gems that we love such as Selvapiana, Felluga, Inama and Casanova di Neri. But where they’ve become internationally famous is their work with Vietti – one of the all-time great Barolo producers and the recent recipient of Vinous’ 2022 Winery of the Year honors.
Luca Currado Vietti and his wife Elena are bonafide superstars in the region – their Cru Barolos essentially start at 96 points and only go up from there. Armed with some of the very best vineyards in the region, their Barolos are true works of art.
So when they were approached by their good friends at Dalla Terra to help launch a new Barolo producer, they happily obliged, though their work was mainly done behind the curtain. That’s good for everybody, since Luca turns down about a dozen consulting offers a year, and doesn’t want to ruffle any feathers, and Dalla Terra can’t quite afford to pay their famous friends in only the first year of an unproven new project.
Down the road though, if they all are made this well, these bottles will be selling for a lot more than they are today.
